Home and Away: Remi Goes to the Police and Accuses Beau of Dealing Steroids

Remi finally takes action against Beau when he goes to the police and formally accuses him of supplying illegal steroids at Summer Bay Fit. After giving Sonny the opportunity to come clean about his own involvement, Remi decides he can no longer stay quiet when Sonny refuses to tell Dana the truth.

It is a major step for Remi, particularly because reporting Beau risks drawing attention towards Sonny as well. Cash quickly suspects there may be more to the story when he considers how much time Sonny spends at the gym, leaving Remi trying to expose Beau without dragging his friend down with him.

Remi had already warned Sonny that he needed to deal with the situation, but Sonny refuses to confess his steroid dealing to Dana. With Sonny unwilling to act, Remi follows through on his ultimatum and heads to the police station.

Cash listens as Remi reveals that illegal steroids are being supplied at the gym, but an allegation alone is not enough. He tells Remi that he needs an official statement if the police are going to pursue the matter properly.

That forces Remi to make his accusation formal. He goes on record and identifies Beau as the person supplying the steroids, giving the police something concrete to act upon and putting himself firmly behind the allegation.

Cash, however, senses there is more that Remi is not telling him. Knowing Sonny spends plenty of time at Summer Bay Fit, he begins to wonder whether Sonny has some connection to what is happening and presses Remi for further information.

Remi refuses to implicate him. His decision shows the difficult position he has put himself in, because he wants Beau’s operation stopped while still trying to protect Sonny from the consequences of his own involvement.

The statement is enough for David to take the allegations seriously. He moves to secure an immediate search warrant for Summer Bay Fit, setting up a police raid that could expose what Beau and Sonny have been doing.

Cash considers whether Tane should be warned before officers arrive at his gym, but David refuses to allow anything that could compromise the search. Tane therefore has no advance warning when police descend on Summer Bay Fit looking for the steroids Remi has reported.

Remi has no way of knowing that Sonny is already taking steps to undermine the investigation. Sonny reaches the drugs first and removes them, meaning David and his officers are unable to find the evidence they expected during the search.

Beau is also taken to the police station for questioning, where he denies dealing drugs. With the gym search failing to produce evidence, Cash is eventually forced to release him.

For Remi, the failed raid does not mean the matter is over. He realises Sonny must have removed the drugs and confronts him, warning that the police will eventually establish who is involved.

Sonny instead feels betrayed by what Remi has done, despite being given the opportunity to tell Dana the truth before Remi approached Cash. Their friendship is now under enormous strain, with Remi unwilling to ignore something he knows is wrong and Sonny becoming increasingly determined to keep his involvement hidden.

Remi may not have secured the immediate result he wanted, but his statement has brought Beau’s activities directly to police attention. Cash is asking questions about Sonny, David has already authorised a search and Tane is now aware that serious allegations have been made about what is happening inside his gym.

By refusing to remain silent, Remi has pushed the steroid operation out of the shadows and into an official police investigation. The first search may have failed, but keeping the truth hidden could now become much harder for both Beau and Sonny.
