Five main stories drive Hollyoaks from 24–26 August as Vicky’s struggles are discovered and Rex’s murder remains at the centre of Ste and Leah’s attention. James attempts to repair his relationship with Ste, while Tony and Cindy face very different problems of their own.
Vicky’s struggles are discovered
Donny discovers that Vicky has an eating disorder and decides he needs to act. His discovery brings the situation into the open and leaves him facing an important decision over what happens next.
Vicky’s storyline provides one of the more serious developments across the three episodes. Donny’s reaction puts the focus firmly on supporting her after learning the truth.
Leah investigates Rex’s death
Ste enlists Leah to investigate James’ possible involvement in Rex’s murder. Leah later carries out online research into Rex’s killer as she tries to find more information.
The investigation continues while Ro prepares to honour Rex. He holds a memorial for his late friend as those around him continue dealing with the loss.
James tries to repair things with Ste
James asks Beth to help him regain Ste’s trust, despite Ste having questions about his possible connection to Rex. He later makes another effort by bringing Ste flowers.
James also forms an unlikely friendship with Jonah. His attempts to reconnect with Ste therefore unfold alongside an unexpected new bond.
Tony reacts to Maddox and Dee Dee
Tony is furious when he learns Maddox and Dee Dee have had sex. The discovery immediately creates fresh tension around the pair.
Elsewhere, Mercedes takes a more practical approach to her own situation. She spruces up her kids’ old clothes with the intention of reselling them.
Cindy wants answers from Xander
Cindy meets Martin’s son Xander in an attempt to understand why she was set up. The meeting gives her the chance to start searching for the explanation she wants.
With Vicky’s situation, Rex’s murder and James’ attempts to reach Ste all unfolding alongside her search, there is plenty happening across the village.
