Has Cain Sacrificed Samson to Settle His Score With Tom in Emmerdale?

Cain Dingle faces a devastating accusation in Emmerdale next week when Sam discovers his brother encouraged Samson to attack Tom, leaving the young man in serious trouble.

Sam receives a phone call confirming that Samson has assaulted someone and will not be returning home. The family quickly realises that Cain was responsible for encouraging him to target Tom, prompting an explosive confrontation between the brothers.

For Sam, the situation is particularly painful because of Samson's previous treatment of Matty. He accuses Cain and Moira of never forgiving his son for hurting Matty, suggesting that their feelings about the past may have influenced Cain's decision.

The accusation raises an uncomfortable question about the Dingle family's approach to protecting its own. Cain has frequently taken matters into his own hands when relatives are threatened, but involving Samson has left another family member facing the consequences.

Sam's anger eventually overwhelms him, and he physically attacks Cain before the pair are separated. Cain storms away, leaving Sam sobbing as he struggles with the news about his son.

The confrontation also creates further difficulties for Belle, whose history of abuse at Tom's hands makes the assault particularly concerning.

Sam believes Cain has placed Samson in an impossible situation, while Belle fears Tom could use the attack as an opportunity to retaliate.

Could Cain's attempt to deal with Tom end up causing more harm to the people he was trying to protect?

Emmerdale continues on ITV1 and ITVX.
