Coronation Street: Who Could Save Carla From Leanne And Idris Underworld Takeover?

Carla Connor faces losing Underworld in today’s Coronation Street, with Leanne and Idris looking to buy the struggling factory.

But while Leanne wants to protect the workers’ jobs, who will step forward to help Carla keep the business she has fought so hard for?

Surely the Queen of the Cobbles cannot loose Underworld? With wife Lisa firmly by her side, could an unexpected ally provide the lifeline Carla desperately needs?

Carla Faces Losing Underworld

Following the deliberate sabotage at Underworld by Brody under the orders of Idris, Carla discovers her insurance payout could be jeopardised because the sprinkler system was not serviced.

“I have only got enough money for one more wage. I’ve just had to tell them this afternoon,” Carla admits to Lisa.

Her greatest concern is for the employees depending on her, particularly with Christmas approaching.

“I know they think I’m a hard-nosed cow sometimes, but I’ve really tried to look after them” she explains.

Meanwhile, Idris admits to Leanne that the sabotage was intended to ruin an order and push Carla towards selling.

Leanne is furious about what Idris has done, and points out the consequences for the workforce. She wants to save their jobs, but her plan to buy the factory with Idris would leave Carla without her business.

Swarla Face the Crisis Together

One positive amid Carla’s troubles is the strength of her marriage to Lisa. When Carla begins losing hope, Lisa encourages her to keep fighting.

“Hey, come on. Come on. It’s not like you to give up, is it?” she tells her wife.

Their marriage has already given viewers plenty of emotional moments, and this latest storyline offers another opportunity to see the couple working together.

Carla has survived business disasters before, and with Lisa supporting her, could Swarla emerge from this latest challenge stronger than ever?

Who Could Come to Carla’s Rescue?

With Leanne and Idris potentially taking control, Carla might need somebody willing to provide financial backing without forcing her to surrender Underworld.

Could an old business partner return to Weatherfield with an offer? Perhaps somebody from Carla’s past could provide a loan or investment, allowing her to rebuild while retaining ownership.

Another intriguing possibility involves Lisa’s family. Viewers already know Betsy, but what about the aunt she has mentioned? Could Lisa’s sister finally arrive in Weatherfield, perhaps bringing the financial resources or business experience Carla needs?

Introducing another member of the Swain family could also open up fresh stories for Carla, Lisa and Betsy.

Alternatively, a completely new investor could offer Carla a partnership, giving Underworld a fresh start without removing its familiar boss.

These are theories rather than confirmed developments, but there are certainly several directions the storyline could take.

Underworld has been central to Coronation Street and Carla’s world for decades, and watching Leanne and Idris take over does not bare thinking about for regular Corrie fans.
