Coronation Street spoilers 7–11 September: Jodie discovers secret and targets Sarah

Jodie becomes increasingly unpredictable in Coronation Street from 7–11 September after stumbling across information she was never meant to hear. Already hurt after being dumped by Kit, she soon finds herself with a secret that gives her a new sense of control.

Jodie lets herself into Sarah’s flat and overhears a conversation that leaves her completely stunned. Rather than immediately confronting anyone or revealing what she has heard, she keeps the information to herself and begins thinking about what she can do with it.

That becomes more obvious when she starts playing games with Bethany. Jodie does not immediately spell everything out, but her behaviour makes it clear enough that she knows something Bethany would rather she did not.

The tension rises when Jodie books a prison visit with Sarah. She makes it clear that she has something she wants to reveal, leaving Bethany with good reason to worry about what might happen if Jodie follows through.

Jodie’s behaviour comes during an already difficult period for her. Her relationship with Kit has ended, and she is clearly hurt by the rejection, but the secret she has uncovered gives her something else to focus on.

Her plans are interrupted by the sudden arrival of Doug. His return forces Jodie and Shona to confront their estranged father at exactly the moment Jodie is already caught up in another volatile situation.

Doug insists that he wants to repair his relationship with his daughters, but Jodie remains wary of him. His return does not immediately make her feel safe or comfortable, even if she once wanted answers about where he had gone.

Things become even more complicated when Doug catches Jodie pretending to be Shona. He is left unsettled by what he sees, and his concern grows when he notices the way Jodie looks at David.

That puts Jodie under a level of scrutiny she was not expecting. While she is trying to control the information she has uncovered, Doug is starting to watch her own behaviour much more closely.

Elsewhere, Kit is dealing privately with his cancer diagnosis and later tells Todd about an upcoming CT scan. Betsy is also trying to rebuild her future after Sally finds a local fashion course that could suit her, before sudden head pain leaves her frightened that she could be suffering another stroke.

Jodie may believe she is the one holding all the power, but Doug’s arrival means somebody else is now starting to question exactly what she is doing.
