What happens in Emmerdale 17–21 August? Dawn targets Joe, Kev exposes his secret and DS Ramsden refuses to drop her suspicions.
Secrets threaten to explode across Emmerdale as Dawn, Billy, Charity, Sarah and Kev all find themselves under growing pressure.
Billy and Dawn believe they are close to escaping with Clemmie using fake passports, but Graham intercepts them. Instead of leaving, they are taken to Joe’s surprise joint stag and hen celebration. With Caleb unable to contact them, Billy becomes increasingly worried, especially when Dawn takes part in clay pigeon shooting and turns towards Joe with her gun.
Kev’s own secret also finally catches up with him. Ruby and Caleb recruit him to steal one of Jimmy’s deliveries as they increase the financial pressure on his haulage business. Kev is furious to discover the supposedly valuable cargo contains nappies, before Ruby reveals footage showing that Kev attacked Billy.
Kev smashes Caleb’s laptop and later gets drunk, accidentally apologising to Billy for putting him in hospital. Billy realises Kev was his attacker and also learns Caleb and Ruby were involved. Jimmy eventually gives in and sells his business, while Caleb continues withholding Dawn and Billy’s passports.
Elsewhere, DS Ramsden remains suspicious of Charity’s confession over Dr Todd’s death. Charity meets Serena, who knows the truth about Sarah’s involvement, but Ramsden interrupts them. Jacob decides to stop investigating, increasing Sarah’s guilt as she considers whether to tell her husband everything.
Amid the turmoil, Lewis suggests that Jimmy and Nicola renew their wedding vows. Nicola is delighted and Jimmy agrees.
