Steve's discovery leaves Ross under suspicion in Coronation Street

Steve McDonald begins to question everything he thought he knew about Ross in upcoming Coronation Street scenes as a crucial discovery casts doubt over his version of events.

For weeks, Ross has successfully convinced those around him that Cassie Plummer cannot be trusted. As accusations and misunderstandings continue to build, Steve finds himself believing Ross rather than the woman who has repeatedly insisted she is telling the truth.

That changes after Cassie decides to leave Weatherfield. Believing she has nothing left to stay for, Cassie accepts a job on a cruise ship and arranges to meet Steve at the police station before she goes. Hoping they can part on better terms, she waits for him, but before Steve arrives, Ross offers to give her a lift.

By the time Steve reaches the meeting place, Cassie has already gone.

Ross later assures Steve that he simply dropped Cassie off, seemingly bringing the matter to a close. However, his explanation does not remain consistent for long.

When Ross later changes his account of where he actually left Cassie, Steve is left confused. The conflicting versions immediately raise alarm bells and force him to reconsider everything Cassie had been trying to tell him.

It marks a significant turning point, as Steve starts to realise Ross may not have been as honest as he first appeared.

The discovery comes after Steve repeatedly dismissed Cassie's warnings, believing she was trying to cause trouble. Instead of listening to her concerns, he accepted Ross's explanations, leaving Cassie increasingly isolated as more people turned against her.
