Missing The Celebrity Traitors? The Traitors Ireland Is Back With Two Series on BBC iPlayer

If you’re missing The Celebrity Traitors, there’s another castle full of secrets waiting on BBC iPlayer. The Traitors Ireland has arrived for UK viewers, with both series available to explore and new episodes of the second series being released weekly.

Hosted by Derry Girls actress Siobhán McSweeney, the Irish version brings its own personality to the familiar competition, with 23 contestants entering Slane Castle in County Meath to compete for a prize fund worth up to €50,000.

Series two originally aired on RTÉ One between 30 August and 22 September 2026, before making its UK debut on BBC Three on 30 October, following The Celebrity Traitors final.

Who hosts The Traitors Ireland?

Siobhán McSweeney returns as host, bringing sharp humour, dramatic outfits and a commanding presence to the Round Table.

The Cork-born actress is best known for playing Sister Michael in Derry Girls and has also presented The Great Pottery Throw Down.

While Claudia Winkleman oversees the British competition, Siobhán has established her own presenting style, guiding contestants through difficult decisions, secret eliminations and increasingly tense accusations.

Who are the contestants in series two?

The 23 players come from different backgrounds, with ages ranging from 24 to 61 and professions including teaching, medicine, music, psychology and the military.

Among them are Anna, a 27-year-old postal worker from Dublin, Diego, a 40-year-old physician associate from Cork, and Pete, a 43-year-old member of the Irish Defence Forces.

Other contestants include a horse-riding instructor, a stay-at-home father, an actor and drama teacher, and a psychotherapist.

Each enters the competition hoping to outwit their opponents, but some are secretly selected as Traitors while the others must work out who is deceiving them.

Where is The Traitors Ireland filmed?

Instead of the Scottish Highlands, the Irish competition takes place at Slane Castle, a historic estate in County Meath’s Boyne Valley.

The contestants work together on missions to increase the prize fund, while the Traitors secretly eliminate players and attempt to escape suspicion.

At each Round Table, the remaining contestants vote to banish someone they believe is a Traitor. An incorrect decision means another innocent Faithful leaves the castle.

The series also has its own companion programme, The Traitors Ireland: Uncloaked, hosted by comedian Kevin McGahern, featuring discussions with eliminated contestants.

Where can you watch The Traitors Ireland in the UK?

Both series are listed on BBC iPlayer, with series two receiving new episodes every week rather than being released in full.
