LGBT Cruise Sets Sail From Portsmouth for Huge British Isles Adventure

LGBT travellers won’t need to fly to the Mediterranean or Caribbean for this cruise.

OUTbound is bringing an LGBT sailing to Portsmouth in 2027, with a seven-night voyage taking passengers around Britain, Ireland and northern France.

The British Isles Cruise sails aboard Azamara Journey from 30 June to 7 July 2027, beginning and ending in Portsmouth.

Where does the LGBT cruise go?

The itinerary includes Dartmouth, Dublin, Belfast, Liverpool and Honfleur, creating an unusual LGBT cruise that mixes major cities with smaller coastal destinations

From Honfleur, travellers can also explore Normandy, with Mont Saint-Michel available as an excursion rather than a port of call.

OUTbound sailings combine destination visits with an LGBT-focused experience aboard the ship. Parties and themed events are planned for the voyage, with more entertainment details expected closer to departure.

For British passengers, one of the biggest attractions could simply be the departure point.

Boarding in Portsmouth removes the need to book a flight just to reach the ship, making this a particularly accessible option for UK travellers wanting an LGBT cruise experience.

Turn it into a London holiday

International visitors can extend the trip before sailing with OUTbound’s optional London programme from 26 to 30 June 2027.

The four-night extension uses Park Plaza Westminster Bridge as its host hotel and includes LGBT-focused experiences, a welcome reception and transport from London to the ship in Portsmouth.

The itinerary itself is also refreshingly different from the usual sun-and-sea LGBT cruise.

Dublin and Liverpool bring major nightlife, Belfast adds another city break, Dartmouth provides a smaller English coastal stop and Honfleur opens the door to Normandy.

For LGBT travellers who like the community atmosphere of a dedicated cruise but fancy exploring somewhere different, the British Isles could be one of 2027’s more unusual options.
