Is Miranda coming back? What we know about the BBC revival reports

Rumours are swirling that Miranda could finally make a comeback to the BBC, more than a decade after the much-loved sitcom wrapped up.

Following Miranda Hart’s standout stint on The Celebrity Traitors, television reports claim that BBC bosses are exploring the possibility of bringing the comedy back to screens.

While nothing has been officially confirmed, whispers suggest a one-off special is currently the most likely option, with a potential fourth series also being discussed.

The timing has certainly got fans talking. Hart’s recent emotional run as a Faithful on the hit reality show put her firmly back in the public eye, culminating in her dramatic murder last week.

Following her exit, she opened up about how wonderful it felt to return to television after taking time away, as we covered in Miranda Hart on her Celebrity Traitors murder and return to TV.

First premiering on BBC Two back in November 2009, Miranda quickly became a massive national treasure. Alongside her iconic supporting cast including Sarah Hadland, Patricia Hodge, Tom Ellis, and Sally Phillips Hart's brilliant portrayal of the socially awkward joke shop owner drew massive audiences before bowing out on New Year's Day in 2015 with "The Final Curtain."

Hart famously chose to end the series on her own terms, and previous revival rumours in 2022 were quickly shut down by the star.

Whether these new reports amount to anything will ultimately have fans talking about the excitment of a new series eitherway!
