Fans will have considerably more opportunities to enter Arena Burgas than the three televised shows alone. Six Preview Shows will also be staged between Monday 10 May and Saturday 15 May, bringing the total number of ticketed Eurovision shows at the venue to nine.

Why Was Arena Burgas Chosen?

The choice of Arena Burgas was central to the city winning the race to host Eurovision 2027. Burgas and Sofia reached the final stage after bids were also submitted by Plovdiv and Varna, with the proposed venues considered alongside accommodation, transport, technical requirements and international connectivity.

Burgas ultimately secured the Contest with a proposal combining the arena’s technical potential with the wider infrastructure needed to stage an international television event on Eurovision’s scale. The city’s accommodation capacity, transport connections and plans to extend the Eurovision experience across Burgas also strengthened its bid.

Eurovision Song Contest Director Martin Green welcomed the choice of Burgas, saying the city brings something “really special” to the Contest. He also highlighted its Black Sea setting, musical and cultural identity and the infrastructure available to welcome the Eurovision community.

Preparations will now move forward between Bulgarian National Television, the EBU and the City of Burgas ahead of the Contest. Further details about the stage, production arrangements and how Arena Burgas will be configured for Eurovision are expected as work progresses.

How Many People Will Arena Burgas Hold for Eurovision?

Arena Burgas can accommodate large concert audiences, with a capacity of up to around 15,000 spectators commonly given for concert configurations. That figure should not, however, be treated as the number of Eurovision 2027 tickets that will eventually become available.

Eurovision requires significant space for its stage, television production, cameras and other operational areas, meaning the final audience capacity can be lower than an arena’s normal concert maximum. The Eurovision specific seating plan and final spectator capacity for Arena Burgas have not yet been confirmed.

When Will Eurovision 2027 Tickets Go on Sale?

Ticket prices, seating categories and individual sale dates have not yet been announced. Fans hoping to attend Eurovision 2027 have been advised to sign up to Eurofan, Eurovision’s official free fan club, ahead of the ticket sale.

How Close Is Arena Burgas to Burgas Airport?

Burgas Airport sits around 11 kilometres northeast of Burgas, making it the most convenient airport for many international Eurovision visitors. The journey into the city can take less than 20 minutes by car under normal conditions, while public transport also connects the airport with Burgas.

The airport’s location could become a significant advantage during Eurovision week, when large numbers of fans, artists, delegations and media will be arriving within a relatively short period. Burgas also has rail connections with Sofia and other parts of Bulgaria, alongside domestic and international bus services.

Eurovision Village, EuroClub and Events Across Burgas

Arena Burgas will only be one part of the Eurovision 2027 experience. Eurovision Village, EuroClub, the Opening Ceremony and a wider programme of public and cultural activities are planned, although their final locations and full programmes are still to be announced.

Organisers want Eurovision to extend beyond a single venue and become part of the wider Host City experience. Sofia, Plovdiv and Varna are also expected to have involvement in the accompanying programme after taking part in the original Host City selection process.
