Linda faces another difficult week as Lee struggles in EastEnders

Linda is facing another difficult family situation in EastEnders, with concerns about Lee's drinking growing just as Nancy admits she is feeling overwhelmed. The Carters have already faced their share of family troubles, but this time Linda is trying to support both of her children while keeping their disagreements from escalating.

Her immediate concern is Lee, whose drinking prompts her to challenge him to remain sober for a week. Meanwhile, Nancy needs support as she prepares for her baby, leaving Linda trying to balance their different needs.

Lee feels pushed out

When Nancy confides in Linda about how overwhelmed she feels, Linda offers to accompany her to an antenatal class instead of Lee. He reacts badly to being excluded, gets drunk and subsequently arrives at the class, where he causes a scene.

The situation becomes more complicated when Max attempts to involve himself in the family disagreement. Linda makes it clear that his intervention is unwelcome, and Nancy later takes the same position when Max begins criticising Lee.

Although the Carters eventually agree to a truce, Max confides in Lauren and vows to insert himself into Linda's family despite their objections. For Linda, dealing with Lee's drinking and supporting Nancy is already difficult enough without further interference.

EastEnders continues on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
