Coronation Street and Emmerdale Off Air on Friday 6 November as ITV Changes Schedule

Coronation Street and Emmerdale viewers will have to go without their usual Friday evening visits to Weatherfield and the Yorkshire Dales on 6 November 2026, as ITV1 makes room for international rugby.

Both soaps are taking a break from their regular slots to accommodate the Nations Championship, with Ireland facing Argentina in Dublin. The match kicks off at 8.10pm, directly clashing with ITV's usual hour of back-to-back soap episodes.

Why Are Both Soaps Missing?

The Nations Championship brings together 12 international rugby teams from the northern and southern hemispheres, with November's fixtures forming the next stage of the competition.

Ireland's meeting with Argentina at the Aviva Stadium opens the autumn series, with ITV broadcasting the tournament to UK audiences.

The match means Emmerdale will not occupy its usual 8pm slot, while Coronation Street will also be missing from its normal 8.30pm position.

When Will Coronation Street and Emmerdale Return?

The interruption affects Friday 6 November, with both soaps normally airing every weekday under the schedule ITV introduced at the beginning of 2026.

Viewers should expect the regular pattern to resume on Monday 9 November, subject to ITV's final programme listings. Further rugby fixtures are also scheduled throughout November, so fans may want to keep an eye on upcoming television schedules.

Both programmes are normally available on ITV1 and ITVX, where viewers can catch up with episodes they have missed.
