Home and Away spoilers for 19–23 October: Eden's family secrets explode

Eden Fowler's first wedding anniversary with Cash Newman takes a painful turn when she discovers that her family has been keeping secrets from her. Meanwhile, Marilyn Chambers receives an upsetting letter from Zane, Tane Parata faces a setback over Archie, and Lacey Miller struggles with life after Theo.

Eden's anniversary ends in tears

Eden asks Remi Carter to help arrange a surprise anniversary celebration, with Levi Fowler and Mackenzie Booth joining the plans. Although Levi accidentally spoils the surprise, Cash is delighted and gives Eden tickets for an around-the-world trip they can plan when her health improves. Eden also acknowledges Mackenzie and Levi's grief following the loss of their baby.

The happiness fades when Richie reveals that he has returned to the Bay and reunited with Abigail. Eden is furious that her sister kept the relationship secret. She is even more hurt when she discovers that Levi has an upcoming operation that he and Mackenzie have concealed to protect her. Levi considers postponing it, while Eden accuses Mackenzie of trying to replace her after she offers Abigail relationship advice.

Abigail and Richie face the truth

Abigail struggles to tell Cash and Eden about her reunion with Richie. Remi questions her decision, while Richie eventually tells the couple himself. Cash asks him to leave, and Abigail feels guilty when Richie explains how badly the confession went.

Richie's return also causes tension between Leah Patterson and Justin Morgan. Leah offers Richie and Abigail a temporary place to stay, but Justin objects because she made the decision without consulting him. Richie turns down John's offer to join surf lifesaving because he needs paid work.

Marilyn receives Zane's letter

Mali Hudson visits Zane in prison and learns that he is doing reasonably well and working in the library. Zane gives Mali a letter for Marilyn, but Mali is unsure whether to deliver it. Tane advises against doing so, and Alf Stewart initially keeps the letter from Marilyn because she has been feeling positive.

When Marilyn says she wants to write to Zane, Alf finally hands over the message. Zane thanks her but says he believes prison is where he belongs, will not write again and hopes she can move on.

Tane and Lacey face difficult moments

Tane's plans to visit Archie are disrupted by an emergency road closure. John Palmer shares a Navy story that inspires Tane to seek another way to see his son. John also checks with Cash about the anniversary, while Cash worries about putting pressure on Eden.

Meanwhile, Jo Langham returns early from specialist training and arranges a family lunch to welcome Amelia. Lacey is uncomfortable, but Amelia rescues the meal after Lacey burns the dessert. Later, Lacey asks David how he knew he was ready to move forward with Amelia and admits she hopes to love someone as deeply as she loved Theo.

Sonny Baldwin checks in with Lacey and sends condolences to Justin as the anniversary of Theo's death affects them all. Leah and Justin visit Theo's grave, while Alf and Marilyn support Leah. Remi also discusses an online support-group diet with Eden, telling her about Melanie, who has the same condition and lived years longer than doctors expected.
