Heather Tom could make Daytime Emmy history with seventh win?
The Bold and the Beautiful's Heather Tom is level with Erika Slezak on six Daytime Emmys. A win for Katie Logan on Friday would make her the most decorated actress in the awards' history.
Heather Tom could become the most decorated actress in Daytime Emmy history when the 53rd annual awards take place in Hollywood on Friday 30 October 2026, with The Bold and the Beautiful star hoping to secure a record-breaking seventh trophy.
The actress, who plays Katie Logan in the long-running CBS drama, currently shares the record of six Daytime Emmy wins with One Life to Live legend Erika Slezak. Another victory would put Tom ahead of Slezak for the first time, adding another achievement to a career spanning more than three decades.
How Heather Tom made Daytime Emmy history
Tom collected her first two Daytime Emmys in 1993 and 1999 for playing Victoria Newman in The Young and the Restless, before moving to The Bold and the Beautiful, where her portrayal of Katie brought her four further awards.
She won Outstanding Supporting Actress in 2011, followed by Lead Actress victories in 2012, 2013 and 2020, becoming the only performer to win across the younger, supporting and lead actress categories.
Slezak, meanwhile, won all six of her awards in the Lead Actress category for playing Viki Buchanan on One Life to Live between 1984 and 2005, a record that will remain intact regardless of Friday’s result.
Anthony Geary, best known for playing Luke Spencer in General Hospital, holds the overall acting record with eight Daytime Emmy wins.
Four actresses stand between Tom and the record
Tom faces strong competition from Michelle Stafford, who plays Phyllis Summers in The Young and the Restless, and Stacy Haiduk, who portrays Kristen DiMera in Days of our Lives.
Beyond the Gates has secured two places in the category during its first year of eligibility, with Karla Mosley nominated for playing Dani Dupree and Tamara Tunie recognised for her performance as Anita Dupree.
The competition has not prevented the actresses from celebrating together ahead of the ceremony, with last year’s winner Nancy Lee Grahn hosting all five nominees for dinner at her home on Wednesday 28 October.
The gathering continues a long-standing Daytime Emmy tradition established by former The Bold and the Beautiful star Susan Flannery, bringing the leading actresses together before one of them takes home the award.
General Hospital legend to receive special honour
Friday’s ceremony will also recognise Genie Francis, who has portrayed Laura on General Hospital since 1977 and is receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award ahead of her 50th anniversary with the soap.
Francis will be presented with the honour by her husband, actor and director Jonathan Frakes, while familiar performers from General Hospital, Days of our Lives, Beyond the Gates and other daytime dramas will take part in presenting the awards.
The ceremony takes place at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, with the winners announced during a live stream rather than a traditional network television broadcast.
Viewers in the UK can follow the awards through the official Emmys streaming website, the Emmys YouTube channel and the Emmys app.
Whether Tom claims her seventh award or one of her fellow nominees takes the trophy, the Lead Actress category is set to be one of the most closely watched contests of the evening.
