Home and Away spoilers 5–9 October 2026 as Tane turns on Sonny and Mackenzie stands firm
Tane objects to Sonny’s job, Mackenzie refuses to fire him, and Eden, Zane and Abigail face difficult choices in Home and Away.
Sonny fears losing a job he actually enjoys in Home and Away this week after Tane discovers he is working at Salt. Mackenzie stands by her decision to employ him, even while facing her own heartbreak with Levi.
Tane first pushes Sonny at the Surf Club, sending him to the floor while he is still recovering from injury. Alf challenges Tane, who explains that he blames Sonny for Archie living so far away.
Finding Sonny behind the bar later gives Tane another reason to be angry. He confronts Mackenzie at home, where Levi sends him away, and Sonny assumes his employment cannot survive the dispute.
Mackenzie makes clear that Sonny is a good worker and she has no reason to dismiss him. Tane apologises, and she recognises that his anger comes from losing his family.
She then reveals the loss of her and Levi’s frozen embryos. Tane comforts her and encourages her to talk to Levi, whose furious calls to the clinic and interest in legal action have left them struggling to support each other.
Their eventual conversation leads Mackenzie to decide against further IVF. Levi reassures her that they are a family already and removes them from the clinic’s client list.
Cash also struggles to face a painful discussion, avoiding Eden’s wish to talk about what happens if no donor is found. Deb arrives, but Eden eventually asks her parents to leave to give the couple privacy.
A surprise visit from Remi makes Eden happy without solving the problem. Deb tells Cash that Eden needs him, and after the family disperses, he and Eden are left alone to talk.
Abigail, overwhelmed by events at home, encounters Richie during a break. He explains his move from policing to retail and asks her to consider another chance at their relationship.
David and Amelia, meanwhile, receive unexpected encouragement from Lacey. After spending time with Amelia, Lacey accepts that she could be good for David, allowing the couple to move forward more confidently.
Zane rejects opportunities Marilyn, John and Alf offer, from college and driving to counselling. Talking with Mali and Tane reveals his belief that prison suited him better.
After David warns him about the consequences of a wrong step, Zane deliberately causes damage at the Juice Bar and board shop. When he receives a caution, he punches a police officer and is arrested.
