Home and Away: Sonny sinks to shocking new low as he steals from Remi

Sonny has made plenty of mistakes in recent weeks, but his latest decision could prove impossible to come back from as his growing desperation leads him to betray one of the people closest to him.

In upcoming scenes, Sonny’s steroid addiction continues to spiral as he becomes increasingly frantic to get his hands on more drugs. With his money running out and those around him losing patience, he finds himself backed into a corner.

After spending time alone with Beau, Sonny asks if he can have more steroids, insisting he is good for the money even if he cannot pay straight away. Beau refuses to supply him on credit, leaving Sonny desperately trying to change his mind.

Despite Sonny’s pleas, Beau refuses to budge. With no way of convincing him, Sonny realises he will have to find another solution, even if it means crossing a line that could destroy his relationships forever.

Rather than giving up, Sonny decides to try repairing another fractured friendship. He reaches out to Remi following their recent fallout, hoping an apology might help smooth things over after asking Eden for money.

The pair meet at Salt, where Sonny appears genuinely remorseful for everything that has happened between them. For a brief moment, it looks as though they may finally be able to move forward, with Remi listening as Sonny apologises for his recent behaviour.

However, the meeting quickly takes a devastating turn.

As Remi heads to the bar, he unknowingly leaves his wallet behind on the table. Left alone, Sonny spots the opportunity sitting right in front of him.

Unable to resist the temptation, Sonny secretly steals Remi’s credit card, hoping it will provide the money he desperately needs to continue feeding his addiction.

The theft marks one of Sonny’s darkest moments since arriving in Summer Bay. While he has previously borrowed money and pushed away those trying to help him, deliberately stealing from his best mate is a very different level of betrayal.

The storyline also underlines just how much control the steroids now have over Sonny’s life. His desperation is no longer simply affecting his own future, but is beginning to hurt the people who have stood by him.

Remi has repeatedly tried to support Sonny despite their disagreements, making the betrayal even more painful. Should the truth come to light, any hope of rebuilding their friendship could disappear in an instant.

It also leaves questions over how long Sonny can continue hiding his addiction. Credit card theft is unlikely to go unnoticed for long, and Remi will almost certainly begin asking questions once he realises his card has vanished.

If Sonny uses the card, the consequences could become even more serious, potentially exposing his addiction to everyone around him and forcing him to confront the damage he has caused.

For Beau, refusing Sonny’s request may have seemed like the right decision, but it also unintentionally pushed his desperate customer towards an even more reckless act. Whether Beau discovers what Sonny has done remains to be seen, but he may soon realise just how dangerous Sonny’s situation has become.

With Sonny now willing to steal from his closest friend, his addiction appears to have reached a frightening new stage. The question is no longer whether he needs help, but whether those around him will discover the truth before he destroys every relationship he has left.
