Hollyoaks Ste Hay makes dramatic move after Rex memorial

Hollyoaks will bring the village together to remember Rex, but the emotional memorial soon gives way to fresh questions for Ste as he continues trying to discover the truth surrounding his husband’s death.

Ro decides to organise a memorial service for Rex in the park and asks Ste for his blessing before putting the plans into action. The community gathers for an afternoon dedicated to Rex’s memory, with the park decorated as friends and family come together to pay tribute.

Abigail delivers some moving words during the service, while Ste faces another difficult day as he continues grieving for his husband. Leah remains by her dad’s side throughout, giving Ste some much-needed support as emotions run high.

Tony is also struggling with the loss, while Ro continues dealing with his own grief. Rex’s death has clearly affected several members of the village, making the memorial an important moment for those trying to process what has happened.

However, Ste’s attention soon returns to the unanswered questions surrounding Rex’s murder.

Martin has already come forward and revealed that he was paid to kill Rex, but Ste remains deeply suspicious about what really happened. His focus increasingly turns towards James when he finds him hanging around his home and orders him to leave.

Ste begins wondering whether James knows more about Rex’s death than he has admitted. With James having been absent for a long period and questions remaining over exactly what happened during that time, Ste decides he needs answers rather than simply accepting what he has been told.

Leah soon becomes involved in her dad’s search for the truth. Ste recruits his daughter to do some online investigating into Martin as they attempt to uncover anything that could help explain the circumstances surrounding Rex’s murder.

Meanwhile, James appears determined to repair his relationship with Ste. He later arrives at Ste’s door carrying flowers, but after Ste’s suspicions have intensified, winning back his trust may prove considerably more difficult than James expects.

The memorial may give Ste and the rest of the village an opportunity to celebrate Rex’s life, but it certainly does not bring an end to the questions surrounding his death. With Ste and Leah now actively searching for answers and James firmly on Ste’s radar, the investigation into what really happened to Rex looks set to continue.
