Europe’s Biggest LGBTQ+ Ski Week Returns to France in 2027
European Gay Ski Week returns to Val Thorens in France in March 2027, bringing skiing, parties and LGBTQ+ entertainment to the French Alps.
One of Europe’s biggest LGBTQ+ winter events is heading back to France, with European Gay Ski Week returning to Val Thorens from March 13 to 20, 2027.
The week brings together an international crowd from almost 50 countries for skiing, snowboarding, après ski, DJs, cabaret, live entertainment and parties.
It is separate from Arosa Gay Ski Week in Switzerland, which takes place earlier in January, giving LGBTQ+ travellers two very different Alpine escapes to consider for 2027.
Where is Val Thorens?

Val Thorens is high in the French Alps in southeastern France, sitting at around 2,300 metres above sea level.
It is recognised as Europe’s highest ski resort and forms part of Les 3 Vallées, an enormous connected ski area offering around 600km of pistes.
This is very much a mountain resort holiday, with hotels, apartments, restaurants, bars and ski lifts concentrated around Val Thorens.

The scale of Les 3 Vallées means experienced skiers have plenty to explore, while lessons and easier slopes make the destination accessible to people who are relatively new to skiing or snowboarding.
You don’t have to spend the entire week on skis either. The social programme is a major part of European Gay Ski Week, with visitors able to enjoy the resort, mountain restaurants and entertainment before joining the après ski and evening events.
Where to book European Gay Ski Week

The easiest option is to book directly through the official European Gay Ski Week website, where visitors can arrange accommodation alongside the passes needed for the week.
Packages range from apartments and more affordable residences through to four and five star hotels, including the official host hotel.

There are also options aimed at people travelling alone. Solo visitors can choose shared accommodation and be matched with another guest, while groups can book apartments together.
Lift passes and the event Holiday Pass can be added during booking, so travellers can organise most of the ski week in one place rather than arranging everything separately
How to get there from the UK
Geneva Airport is one of the most convenient gateways for UK travellers, despite the airport itself being across the border in Switzerland.
European Gay Ski Week is offering dedicated transfers from Geneva to Val Thorens on the main arrival day, with the road journey normally taking around three hours depending on conditions.

Travelling by rail is also possible. Moûtiers is the nearest major railway station, with the final part of the journey into Val Thorens completed by bus, coach, taxi or private transfer.
For anyone used to planning LGBTQ+ holidays around beaches, Pride weekends and big cities, Val Thorens offers a completely different experience.
