Emmerdale Vinny terrified as he faces court over Jimmy’s death

Vinny Dingle faces one of the biggest moments of his life in Emmerdale as the day of his court appearance finally arrives. His family try to stay positive, but Vinny's fear makes clear just how serious the situation has become.

The pressure has been building ever since the truth emerged about the crash that killed Jimmy. Vinny had been distracted by a video call with Gabby when he drifted across the road, forcing Jimmy to take evasive action before his vehicle crashed into the wedding marquee.

Vinny later confessed what had happened, leaving him facing the consequences of a decision that changed several lives. With his case now moving forward, the reality of what could happen next is impossible for him or his family to ignore.

Before court, Mandy gathers the family together as they try to support Vinny through what is ahead. Paddy also attempts to reassure him, with both of them desperate to believe that he will soon be back home with them.

Their confidence does little to disguise the fear surrounding the day. Once Vinny is in court, he is visibly scared as the seriousness of the situation hits home, while Mandy struggles with the possibility that her son could be taken away from her.

What happens at the hearing has deliberately been kept under wraps, meaning there is no confirmation yet of the outcome Vinny receives. That uncertainty makes the court appearance particularly significant as the legal consequences of the crash finally move centre stage.

Vinny has already had to live with the knowledge that his actions contributed to Jimmy's death. Now Mandy, Paddy and the rest of the family can only wait as he prepares to hear what comes next.

Emmerdale airs on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX. Viewers can also catch up with recent episodes through the streaming service.
