Emmerdale spoilers 5 to 9 October 2026 as Carl’s key sends Sadie after Jimmy’s money
Carl finds Jimmy’s mystery key before Sadie and Robert race to a golf club locker, while Gabby and Charity face difficult weeks.
Carl discovers a mysterious key among Jimmy’s scrapyard belongings in Emmerdale, setting off a search that could bring Sadie and Robert face to face with Nicola. The find comes as Carl struggles with the thought of spending his birthday without his father, while Nicola prepares for Jimmy’s funeral and remains hurt by his betrayal.
The key’s purpose becomes clearer after Nicola receives a call from Hotten Golf Club. Robert overhears from the corner of the café, and Manpreet recognises the key as one for Jimmy’s locker there. Sadie takes Robert to the club, convinced it could lead them to Jimmy’s missing cash.
Their timing creates an immediate problem. Nicola and Rodney enter the locker room, leaving Sadie and Robert with no choice but to hide. It is still unclear whether they will find the money, or whether Nicola will discover what they are doing.
Away from Jimmy’s affairs, Laurel becomes worried when she cannot find Gabby after going to speak to her. Gabby is on the floor at The Hide having a panic attack. She later wakes in hospital, emotional but seemingly prepared to take the first steps towards recovery with Laurel and Manpreet’s support.
Charity, meanwhile, is thrown when Serena visits her in prison. Serena wants to discuss Sarah, and Charity later asks Sarah for a private conversation in the back room. Everyone waits to see whether Sarah can forgive Charity for her betrayal. Sarah and Jacob also make a decision, though no further details of their choice have been disclosed.
Jimmy’s funeral closes the week. Sadie sits in the front row as Charles begins his speech, but Nicola finds his words impersonal and stops him. She decides to speak herself, taking an active part in the goodbye she has been dreading.
