Emmerdale reveals Charity Dingle took Robert Sugden's missing £100,000
Emmerdale has revealed who walked off with Robert Sugden's £100,000 poker winnings at the Woolpack, and the culprit is far closer to home than Aaron and Sarah expected.
Emmerdale has answered the question that has hung over the Woolpack since Friday night, revealing that Charity Dingle was the one who walked off with Robert Sugden's £100,000 poker winnings.
The money came from a game Robert arranged at The Hide to raise funds after Gabby Thomas left him with an empty restaurant. Once Claudette Anderson and Jai Sharma had dropped out, Robert went head to head with Joe Tate, putting The Hide on the line against Joe's £100,000. He won, though hardly fairly, because Serena and Sarah had switched the deck, while Aaron was kept in the dark so that his reactions at the table would look genuine.
Robert then took his winnings to the Woolpack to celebrate. Kev announced the size of the jackpot to the whole pub, and Robert left the bag on a seat behind him while the drinks flowed. By the end of the night it had vanished, and with it the money he needed to reopen The Hide.

In Monday's episode, Aaron and Sarah set about finding the thief. Their first stop was Kev, but Claudette stood up for him and the visit turned up nothing more incriminating than the news that he has started a podcast. Jai, questioned next, knew no more than anyone else.
The answer turned out to be much closer to home. When Robert asked Charity whether she had noticed anything suspicious that night, she told him she had been far too busy to notice anything.
Her son Ryan, who was going through the pub's books with her, could tell she was lying, and once he pressed her, Charity admitted that she had taken the cash.

Our earlier look at who took Robert's poker winnings ran through a possible suspects, and Charity's confession now settles the mystery for viewers, if not yet for Robert. She is sitting on £100,000 that belongs to a man who badly needs it back, and the person who knows her secret is her own son.
Whether Charity hands the money back, and whether Robert ever learns where it went, will play out in the episodes ahead.
Emmerdale continues on ITV1 and ITVX.
