Emmerdale Charity begs Sarah for forgiveness after blackmail frees her
Emmerdale’s Charity comes home after Sarah secures her prison release, but recent fan reactions reveal how divided viewers are over their bitter fallout.
Coming up this week in Emmerdale, Charity comes home from prison, but the granddaughter who helped secure her freedom is missing from the family’s welcome. Sarah has acted to get her gran released, yet forgiving the deception surrounding baby Leyla remains a different question.
In scenes airing this week, Charity is stunned when she learns she is being freed. After fearing she could spend her life behind bars for a murder she did not commit, she is overwhelmed to be reunited with Mack and the Dingles.

Her release follows Sarah stepping up her blackmail of Thea and Serena. Thea tries to make her back down, fearing her demands could destroy her career, but Sarah refuses to budge.
Serena visits Charity in prison to discuss Sarah, while she and Thea look for a way through the situation.

With Sarah determined to get her grandmother out, the pair devise another plan, and Charity’s release follows.
However, Sarah’s absence from the welcome leaves Charity shaken. The granddaughter whose actions helped destroy her alibi has now helped secure her freedom, but their relationship is still badly damaged.

When Charity sees Sarah at The Woolpack, she asks for a private conversation in the backroom. As the rest of the family hopes for peace, Charity tentatively asks whether there is any way back for them.
Charity had agreed to carry a baby for Sarah and Jacob, but later concealed that Leyla’s biological parents were herself and Ross. Discovering the truth left the couple devastated, and Charity’s return brings her face to face with the hurt her deception caused.

Fans question Sarah’s revenge
Recent viewer discussion shows sympathy for Sarah’s heartbreak alongside criticism of her decision to leave Charity facing prison. One viewer wrote: “I can understand why Sarah would hold a grudge. But they should have told the police the truth.”
Another argued: “Sarah needs to grow up and take responsibility for her own actions.” Those comments highlight the difficult distinction between understanding Sarah’s anger and supporting the way she acted on it.
Earlier fan theories have also raised the possibility of a dispute over who raises Leyla. That remains speculation, with no custody battle confirmed in these upcoming scenes.
For now, Charity wants to know whether Sarah can forgive her. Getting her grandmother home has changed their situation, but their private conversation will reveal whether they can begin repairing their bond.
