EastEnders Linda accepts Clive date before dramatic Max twist
EastEnders’ Linda agrees to another date with Clive after he saves her event, but fresh information about Max leaves her questioning what she wants.
Linda appears ready to give romance with Clive another chance in EastEnders after he comes to her rescue when an important community event descends into chaos. However, just as Linda starts looking forward, Max is pulled firmly back into her thoughts.
Linda is involved in organising a bingo event with Elaine when an unexpected power cut threatens to derail everything. With the event suddenly in trouble, Clive steps in and helps save the day.
His efforts leave Linda impressed, and the pair agree to another date. It appears to be a positive step for Linda as she explores whether there could be something more between them.
There is already a problem, however, because Linda’s feelings for Max have never been completely straightforward. Despite Max preparing to marry Cindy, his continued presence in Linda’s life means the possibility of unfinished business remains.
The situation becomes even more complicated when Kim reveals another important detail about Max. Linda learns that he played a key role in efforts to save the community centre, something she had not fully appreciated before.
Clive then confirms that the centre is secure for the foreseeable future. While that should allow Linda to celebrate, discovering Max’s part in protecting something important to the community leaves her with much more to think about.
Linda now finds herself caught between two very different possibilities. Clive has demonstrated that he is dependable and has stepped in when she needed help, while Max continues to show up in ways that remind Linda why their connection has been so difficult to leave behind.
Max has also helped Ollie through his nerves about starting secondary school, adding another reason for Linda to reconsider what he means to her family. Those moments come at exactly the point when she had been trying to give something new with Clive a genuine chance.
None of this changes the fact that Max is due to marry Cindy, making Linda’s feelings particularly complicated. What it does mean is that her decision to move forward with Clive may not automatically put everything involving Max behind her.
Linda’s date with Clive therefore comes with a much bigger question hanging over it. She may be trying to follow her head and embrace a fresh start, but Max’s actions are giving her heart another reason to look back.
