EastEnders Kat Slater Shuts Out Alfie After Zoe’s Death
Kat struggles to cope following Zoe’s death and shuts out those closest to her before an unexpected conversation with Oscar forces her to confront her grief.
Kat’s grief takes another heartbreaking turn in upcoming EastEnders scenes as she begins pushing away the people desperately trying to support her.
After discovering Zoe dead in her bedroom, Kat is completely overwhelmed by the loss. Rather than leaning on Alfie and her family, she locks herself away and refuses to let anybody close.
Eventually, Kat realises she needs to escape the house and heads out alone in search of some space. Her attempt to get away from everyone leads to an unexpected encounter with Oscar.
Oscar understands more about losing a close family member than many people his age after the death of his sister Abi. When he sees Kat struggling, he speaks to her about his own experience and the impact such a loss can have on an entire family.
His words strike a chord with Kat, although they do not suddenly make her grief easier to handle. She remains overwhelmed by Zoe’s death and unable to accept the support waiting for her at home.
Alfie understands that Kat is experiencing unimaginable pain, but her determination to shut everybody out leaves him increasingly worried.
He wants to be there for her, yet Kat appears unable to cope with her own grief while also facing the emotions of everyone around her.
EastEnders continues on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
