Home and Away’s Lacey gets the wrong impression as Dylan pulls back
Lacey takes a chance on a date with Dylan in Home and Away, but Jo becomes concerned as her sister pushes herself to make the evening work.
Coming up on Home and Away, Lacey decides to explore her attraction to Dylan despite finding the possibility of dating again emotionally difficult. Their evening together soon leaves her sister Jo questioning whether she is pushing herself too hard.
Dylan is Sonny’s brother, whose arrival has introduced someone new into Lacey’s life. Their connection offers an opportunity she wants to consider, but it has also brought memories of Theo to the surface.
Lacey’s late boyfriend remains closely tied to her feelings about beginning another relationship. She has become upset while discussing her attraction to Dylan, with the possibility of moving forward bringing grief alongside excitement.
The people around her have responded differently. Jo has questioned whether she is ready, while Amelia has encouraged her to take a chance rather than assume that having feelings means she is doing something wrong.
Sonny has also spoken to Dylan about Lacey’s distress. However, Lacey eventually reassures Dylan and asks him on a date, choosing to find out what could happen between them.
At Salt, she arrives determined to make an impression and begins drinking wine. The conversation briefly touches on the death of her mother before Lacey becomes increasingly direct in showing that she is interested.
Dylan appears uncomfortable as the flirting intensifies, while Jo and Sonny watch from nearby. Jo decides to intervene, and the pair join the table, giving Dylan an opportunity to retreat to the bar.
Lacey insists that he likes her, but the evening is not unfolding as smoothly as she wants. Her wish to begin something new has brought her to a situation where her confidence and his reaction are no longer matching.
