Oklahoma Women on Fire Goes Global With Its 2027 Fierce on the Frontline Calendar
Oklahoma Women on Fire has taken its long-running women firefighter calendar international with the 2027 Fierce on the Frontline edition.
Women firefighters from around the world are being celebrated in a new international charity calendar that aims to challenge stereotypes, recognise frontline service and raise money for children affected by cancer.
Oklahoma Women on Fire, an organisation founded by female firefighters in Tulsa, has expanded its annual fundraising calendar beyond the United States for the first time, inviting women serving in fire departments across the world to take part in its 2027 edition, Fierce on the Frontline.
The calendar celebrates the professional achievements of women in a traditionally male-dominated occupation, replacing conventional glamour photography with images showing the realities of emergency response, training, leadership and everyday station life.

From Oklahoma to fire stations around the world
Oklahoma Women on Fire was established in 2018 by firefighters Kendall Taylor and Alexa Reed, who wanted to create something that represented women in the profession while raising money for worthwhile causes.
Their first calendar appeared in 2019 and developed into an annual fundraising project celebrating women working across north-east Oklahoma, while also encouraging younger generations to consider careers in firefighting.
For the 2027 edition, organisers opened applications internationally, inviting serving and recently retired female firefighters aged 18 and over to submit photographs reflecting their experiences.

Rather than selecting participants based on appearance, the organisation encouraged images showing genuine firefighting activities, including operational duties, training exercises, teamwork and leadership.
The international approach aims to recognise the contribution women make to emergency services across different countries, while providing greater visibility for those entering and progressing through the profession.
Charity calendar supports children with cancer
Proceeds from Fierce on the Frontline will support Hydrants of Hope, a charity helping children with paediatric cancer and their families, alongside training and leadership opportunities for women firefighters.

The organisation has already donated more than $105,000 through its charitable activities, with fundraising helping to support families facing childhood cancer and programmes designed to encourage more women into emergency services.
One of those initiatives is Camp Fierce, a practical firefighting programme for women and girls aged 16 and over, offering opportunities to learn emergency response skills from experienced female firefighters.
Participants receive hands-on experience in areas including fireground operations, rescue techniques and teamwork, while also developing confidence and leadership abilities that can support future careers.
The calendar therefore serves a wider purpose than fundraising alone, connecting professional recognition with practical opportunities for women hoping to enter an occupation where they remain underrepresented.

Part of a growing international movement
The Oklahoma project follows similar initiatives elsewhere, including a New Zealand firefighter calendar that has raised substantial funds while celebrating women working in emergency services.
Both projects demonstrate how women firefighters are using photography and community fundraising to challenge traditional perceptions of who belongs in frontline emergency roles.
Although Fierce on the Frontline is not specifically an LGBTQ+ campaign, its emphasis on representation and breaking professional barriers reflects wider conversations about inclusion and visibility within emergency services.
The 2027 edition is now available through Oklahoma Women on Fire's official website, with proceeds helping the organisation continue its charitable and training programmes.
