FDNY Women Firefighters Take Centre Stage in New York's 2027 Charity Calendar
The FDNY's official 2027 Calendar of Heroes includes a female edition featuring women firefighters, EMTs and paramedics, raising funds for the FDNY Foundation.
The Fire Department of the City of New York has released its 2027 Official Calendar of Heroes, with dedicated female and male editions available through the FDNY's official shop.
The calendars celebrate the firefighters, EMTs and paramedics who serve New York City while raising money for the FDNY Foundation.
A total of 25 firefighters, EMTs and paramedics feature in the 2027 Calendar of Heroes, with participants selected by a dedicated committee. Only active uniformed FDNY members were eligible to apply, and nominations submitted on behalf of other people were not accepted.
The department describes those featured as representing fitness, resilience and strength, reflecting the physical demands of emergency service work. The 2027 edition also arrives in the year New York marks the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, an anniversary acknowledged by FDNY Commissioner Lillian Bonsignore during the launch.
Alongside the female edition, the FDNY also sells a men's calendar featuring male members of the department. Both editions celebrate the people serving New York City and support the same charitable cause, giving supporters a choice of calendars.

Where does the money go?
Each calendar is available for a $25 donation to the FDNY Foundation, the department's official non-profit partner. Proceeds support fire and life safety education, training initiatives and resources that help firefighters and emergency medical personnel carry out their duties.
The calendars are available through the official FDNY online shop and in person at the Fire Zone store in Rockefeller Center. The annual fundraiser gives people beyond New York an opportunity to support the department while purchasing a calendar featuring its emergency service workers.
Why visibility matters
Firefighting has traditionally been associated with a predominantly male workforce, and charity calendars have often reflected that image.
A dedicated female edition offers a different perspective by placing women firefighters, EMTs and paramedics at the centre of a campaign celebrating physical strength, professional commitment and public service.
The FDNY has its own LGBTQ+ history, including Brooke Guinan, who became the department's first openly transgender firefighter and has spoken publicly about representation within the profession.
The New York fundraiser also forms part of a broader movement celebrating women working in emergency services. Similar efforts include women firefighters in New Zealand launching their own 2027 charity calendar, highlighting the growing international interest in recognising women in traditionally male-dominated roles.
Where to buy the calendars and support the FDNY
Both the female and male editions of the 2027 Calendar of Heroes can be purchased through the official FDNY online shop, with each calendar available for a $25 donation to the FDNY Foundation. Supporters visiting New York can also purchase copies in person at the FDNY Fire Zone, located at Rockefeller Center in Manhattan.
Those who would prefer to support the department without purchasing a calendar can also contribute directly through the FDNY Foundation. Donations help fund fire safety education, professional training and resources for New York City's firefighters and emergency medical personnel.
International supporters, including readers in the UK, can check the official online shop for available delivery options and shipping costs before ordering.
