Robert Sugden makes a surprising decision in Emmerdale next week when he offers Kev a job at the Smoke House, despite Aaron's understandable discomfort with having him around.
Robert and Aaron have fought hard to rebuild their relationship, and their commitment to one another is firmly established. However, Kev's continued presence in the village remains a sensitive subject, particularly given the difficulties his past involvement with Robert caused.
For Aaron, those experiences are not something that can simply be forgotten. Although he and Robert have moved forward together, that does not mean Aaron has to feel comfortable welcoming Kev into their everyday lives, and who can blame him?

Lewis is pleased by the development and makes it clear that he is proud of Kev, although Aaron is less enthusiastic about the arrangement.
The decision puts Robert in a delicate position. He may see employing Kev as a practical business choice, but Aaron's feelings are equally important, particularly after the experiences they have shared.
For Robron supporters, the couple's future together has been a major focus following their reunion, and Kev's involvement is unlikely to be welcomed by everyone.
The more important question is whether Robert can reassure Aaron that his concerns are being heard while maintaining his own judgement about the business.
