Coronation Street’s Ollie starts fresh as Alya welcomes him to Speed Daal
Coronation Street’s Ollie starts his new job at Speed Daal as Alya shows him the ropes, but Ben’s unexpected arrival threatens his fresh start.
Ollie Driscoll begins a fresh chapter in Coronation Street when he arrives for his first shift as a chef at Speed Daal. The opportunity follows his disappointment over missing out on a job in Brighton, giving him another route towards developing his career.
Leanne offers Ollie the position, and he enthusiastically accepts the chance to work in the restaurant’s kitchen. Alya is there to show him the ropes as he settles into his new surroundings and prepares to take on a different challenge.
The role appears to be exactly what Ollie needs after growing tired of heating up hot pots at the family pub. He wants to broaden his experience as a chef, while Speed Daal offers him the chance to learn new skills and take on greater responsibility.
Ollie initially gets his first day off to a promising start, suggesting that he is ready to make the most of the opportunity. His enthusiasm also shows that the failed Brighton move has not stopped him from pursuing his ambitions closer to home.
However, Ollie’s decision could create trouble with Ben because Speed Daal is viewed as competition for the Driscoll family’s business. Ollie may be focused on his professional future, but his father could see the move as a sign that he has turned his back on the pub.
For now, Ollie is concentrating on settling into the kitchen and proving himself in his new position. His arrival at Speed Daal gives him the fresh challenge he wanted, although his decision is about to place him at the centre of a difficult family disagreement.
