Coronation Street: Will Kit's plan to save Sarah backfire?

Kit is convinced he is doing the right thing as he continues investigating the events surrounding Theo's death, but his determination to help Sarah could have consequences that reach far beyond the courtroom.

Rather than accepting Sarah acted alone, Kit believes there is a bigger story to uncover. His attention has focused on Gary after obtaining phone data from the night Theo died, leaving him convinced that Gary's actions influenced what happened afterwards.

If he can show Sarah was persuaded not to contact the police immediately and instead relied on Gary's advice, her legal team may be able to argue that she was acting under pressure. That argument could improve her chances of receiving a reduced sentence.

Every step he takes places more people under scrutiny, including Gary and Bethany. By revealing details of his investigation to Bethany, Kit also puts her in an uncomfortable position, knowing she wants to support her mum but may also be forced to confront difficult truths about Gary.

Kit carefully examines the available phone evidence, looking for anything that confirms communication and movements after Theo's death. When he uncovers information that appears to support his theory, he becomes even more determined to continue.

A private meeting between the pair leaves Gary unsettled after Kit hints he has made an important discovery. Without showing all of his cards, Kit allows Gary to wonder exactly how much evidence has already been gathered.

If Gary believes the investigation is closing in, he could make mistakes or reveal information that strengthens Kit's case even further. At the same time, Kit risks becoming so focused on helping Sarah that he may overlook the emotional effect his investigation is having on everyone around her.

Sarah remains at the centre of the story, with her future depending on whether Kit can prove she was not solely responsible for the decisions made after Theo's death. His intentions may be honourable, but the route he has chosen is certain to test relationships across the Street.

As Kit pushes forward, the question is no longer simply whether Gary will be exposed. It is whether Kit's relentless pursuit of the truth will ultimately help Sarah, or whether it will leave even more lives in pieces before the investigation reaches its conclusion.
