Coronation Street Lisa makes tough call as Kit’s behaviour raises alarm
Lisa acts when Kit’s conduct at work becomes impossible to ignore, stepping in to protect both him and the investigation as pressure mounts.
DS Lisa Connor-Swain finds herself having to make a difficult call in upcoming Coronation Street scenes when DC Kit Green’s behaviour at work starts to raise serious concerns.
Kit has been trying to keep going despite the emotional impact of his stage three breast cancer diagnosis.
He has told very few people what he is facing, and that decision to carry on largely as normal is beginning to show in the way he handles pressure.
The warning signs become impossible for Lisa to overlook when Kit loses his temper while dealing with a suspect
Rather than letting the situation continue, Lisa immediately takes control and removes him from the pressure of the station.

She tells Kit to take the day away from work and makes it clear that he needs to get himself back on track.
Lisa also warns him that his career could be jeopardised if the same behaviour continues, drawing a firm line before things deteriorate further.
Although Lisa is unaware of the full extent of Kit’s personal situation, she can clearly see that he is not himself.
Her response is not about turning against him, but recognising that allowing him to carry on unchecked would do neither Kit nor anyone around him any favours.
It also shows Lisa taking responsibility for one of her team at a point when Kit is struggling to recognise his own limits.
By stepping in early, she gives him the chance to pull away from work and address whatever is causing his behaviour before he makes a mistake with much bigger consequences.

Kit has spent much of his time since the diagnosis trying to push forward rather than deal with how he feels.
Lisa’s intervention could now force him to confront the fact that continuing in the same way is becoming unsustainable.
Whether he listens to her warning remains to be seen, but Lisa has made sure he cannot simply pretend everything is fine.
