Coronation Street: Gary's biggest secret edges closer to being exposed

Gary has managed to keep his involvement hidden for weeks, but that could soon change as Kit edges closer to uncovering exactly what happened after Theo's death.

The detective is refusing to let the case rest and believes he has found a fresh line of enquiry that could expose Gary's role in helping Sarah after the fatal incident. By analysing phone data from the night Theo died, Kit becomes convinced there is more to the story than first believed.

Kit wants to prove Sarah did not deal with the aftermath alone, believing that evidence could support her defence and potentially reduce the sentence she faces. To achieve that, he needs to establish exactly who helped her and what happened in the hours after Theo's death.

Rather than making immediate accusations, Kit quietly pieces together the evidence while speaking to those closest to Sarah. He even shares his suspicions with Bethany, explaining why he believes Gary's actions influenced the decisions Sarah made after the incident.

He knows Kit is following a trail that appears to be leading directly towards him, and every new development makes it harder to believe the truth will remain hidden. When Kit later asks Gary to meet him, it becomes obvious that the detective feels increasingly confident about what he has uncovered

Kit suggests he has made an important breakthrough but keeps the full details to himself, leaving Gary to wonder whether the evidence is already strong enough to expose him. That uncertainty creates a tense encounter as Gary tries to work out how much Kit really knows.

Even if the investigation is still developing, the balance of power appears to be changing. For much of the storyline Gary has stayed one step ahead, but Kit's methodical approach is beginning to close the gap. Every phone record, conversation and new piece of information adds to the picture he is building.

If Kit succeeds in proving Sarah acted with Gary's help, it may strengthen the argument that she was not making decisions entirely on her own. While that could improve Sarah's prospects in court, it would also leave Gary facing the consequences of his own actions.

With Kit refusing to give up and Gary running out of places to hide, the storyline is building towards a dramatic showdown where long kept secrets may finally come into the open.
