Coronation Street fan theory: Will Ross finally be exposed after Cassie's exit?
Could Ross's lies finally catch up with him? Fans are already questioning whether Cassie's exit could mark the beginning of his downfall in Coronation Street.
Cassie's departure from Weatherfield may not be the end of her story, as there are already several unanswered questions that could come back to haunt Ross in Coronation Street.
Although Ross has succeeded in convincing many of those around him that Cassie cannot be trusted, cracks are beginning to appear in his carefully constructed version of events. By the time Cassie leaves, there are already signs that his deception may not remain hidden forever.
The biggest question surrounds what happened after Cassie accepted a lift from Ross. Steve was expecting to meet Cassie at the police station before she left Weatherfield, but she had already gone by the time he arrived. Ross later explained that he had given her a lift, but his account of where he dropped her off changes, leaving Steve with fresh doubts.
That inconsistency could prove to be the first step towards the truth coming out. If Steve continues asking questions, he may begin to realise that Cassie had been trying to warn everyone from the very beginning. After dismissing her concerns for so long, discovering that Ross has not been honest would force him to reconsider everything that has happened over recent weeks.
Tracy could also find herself looking at Ross differently if more details emerge. Having accepted his version of events, she may eventually question whether she judged Cassie too harshly, particularly if Ross struggles to explain the inconsistencies in his story.
Tyrone and Fiz may also have difficult decisions to make. Both have watched Cassie rebuild her life and work hard to earn back their trust, only to see everything fall apart in a matter of weeks. If Ross is exposed, they could be left regretting that they turned their backs on her when she needed them most.
Another possibility is that Cassie herself could provide the answers. If she has safely started her new life away from Weatherfield, there is nothing to stop her returning in the future with new evidence or information that proves she was telling the truth. That would completely change how those closest to her view everything that happened before she left.
At this stage, there is no confirmation that Ross will be exposed, and these possibilities remain fan theories based on the unanswered questions left by the storyline. However, with Steve already beginning to question Ross's changing account, it is clear that not everyone is convinced the story is over.
If Ross has spent weeks manipulating the people around him, it may only take one mistake for everything he has built to come crashing down.
