Coronation Street: Did Brody attack Dylan Wilson after Betsy Swain stroke?

Brody quickly finds himself under suspicion in Coronation Street after Dylan Wilson is brutally attacked, but is the obvious suspect actually innocent?

In upcoming scenes, Dylan is lured to the precinct before being violently assaulted and left unconscious. Nina later discovers him lying on the ground and immediately calls for an ambulance, with Dylan rushed to hospital as concern spreads across Weatherfield.

As police begin looking into what happened, Brody's name is never far from the conversation. The teenager has become protective of Betsy following her stroke, and his relationship with Dylan has deteriorated dramatically. Ever since Betsy's life changed, Brody has made little secret of the fact that he blames Dylan for the chain of events that led to her medical emergency.

The pair have exchanged angry words on several occasions, with tensions continuing to rise as Betsy struggles through her recovery. Their bitter feud means Brody appears to have both the motive and the opportunity to seek revenge.

Sean is among those convinced Brody could be responsible. Desperate to find whoever attacked his son, he wastes little time pointing the finger at the teenager, believing his anger towards Dylan may finally have boiled over.

While Brody may seem like the most likely culprit, there are several other people who also have reasons to hold Dylan responsible for what happened to Betsy. With emotions running high across Weatherfield, the programme could easily be leading viewers towards the most obvious suspect while the real attacker remains hidden.

Brody's protective nature has never been in doubt, but there is a significant difference between standing up for someone you care about and carrying out a violent assault.

If he is innocent, the accusations could leave him facing scrutiny at the very moment he is trying to support Betsy through one of the toughest periods of her life. The suspicion could also place even more strain on relationships that have already been pushed to breaking point.

With Dylan recovering in hospital and the investigation only just beginning, viewers will have to wait to discover whether Brody really attacked Dylan or whether Coronation Street is setting up one of its biggest mystery twists of the year.
