Coronation Street confirms Lauren attacks Dylan as Betsy’s recovery takes another heartbreaking turn
ITV has released a first look at next week’s Coronation Street episodes confirming Lauren attacks Dylan after confronting him over Betsy, leaving him unconscious and rushed to hospital.
Coronation Street is set to deliver another emotional chapter in Betsy Swain’s recovery as ITV has released a preview spoiler clip from next week’s episodes confirming that Lauren Bolton is the person who attacks Dylan Wilson
The newly released first look shows Lauren still convinced Dylan is responsible for everything Betsy has endured following her stroke. While Betsy has repeatedly maintained that what happened between them was consensual, Lauren refuses to accept his version of events and takes matters into her own hands.
Lauren follows Dylan through Weatherfield before confronting him in the street. During the heated exchange, she accuses him of treating women like “playthings” and dismisses his explanation about what happened with Betsy.
The confrontation quickly turns physical as Lauren slaps Dylan before shoving him backwards. He falls heavily to the ground and is left lying motionless, leaving Lauren horrified by what she has done.

Realising the seriousness of the situation, Lauren looks shocked and flees the scene. In later scenes, Nina finds Dylan unconscious and calls for an ambulance before he is rushed to hospital.
The attack is another devastating development for Betsy, who is still recovering after suffering a stroke caused by a blood clot. Having only recently returned home from hospital, she is trying to adjust to life after the traumatic ordeal while also dealing with the emotional fallout surrounding Dylan.
Lauren’s actions are also set to deepen the growing divide between her and Betsy. Unable to understand why Betsy has refused to blame Dylan, Lauren believes she is standing up for her friend, but her decision to confront him could instead create even more pain for everyone involved.
The consequences extend beyond Lauren and Dylan. After Dylan refuses to reveal who attacked him, Sean wrongly believes Brody is responsible, setting another confrontation in motion as misunderstandings continue to spread across Weatherfield.
With Betsy’s recovery already proving an emotional journey, Lauren’s impulsive actions threaten to create fresh heartbreak just as her friend needs stability and support the most. Whether the two can repair their friendship after everything that has happened remains to be seen.
Coronation Street airs on ITV1 and streams on ITVX in the UK. International availability varies by country.
