Chelsea Edge was born on 21 October 1990 in Bolton, Greater Manchester, and has built a varied screen career across drama, comedy and crime television. Her credits stretch back several years, with appearances in ITV and BBC productions alongside roles in major streaming series.
Before arriving in Emmerdale, Chelsea had already appeared in programmes including Vera, I Hate Suzie, Suspicion, The Outlaws and Brassic. She has also appeared in Andor, placing a Star Wars production alongside her extensive list of British television work.
Chelsea Edge in Death in Paradise
Chelsea will probably be most recognisable to many viewers for playing Sophie Chambers in BBC crime drama Death in Paradise. Sophie was introduced as a backpacker who developed a relationship with DI Neville Parker, played by Ralf Little, before her seemingly innocent arrival developed into a much darker storyline.
The character ultimately became involved in a plot against Neville and attempted to frame him for murder. Will Chelsea Edge stay in Emmerdale?
Emmerdale has not yet established how long DS Ramsden will remain involved in the village, so it would be premature to assume whether Chelsea’s role is short term or could develop further. For now, the Caitlin Todd investigation gives Ramsden an important place in Charity and Sarah’s story as she continues looking for answers.
