Channel 4 Apocalypse Finale Reveals Who Survived and Who Walked Away
Channel 4's Apocalypse ends after 28 days. Find out who left early, how the remaining contestants escaped and what they learnt about survival.
After 28 days without electricity, running water or reliable food, Channel 4’s Apocalypse reached its conclusion on Sunday 25 October, with the remaining contestants finally escaping their abandoned town.
The survival experiment began with 14 strangers divided between Eastside and Westside, each unaware of the other group’s existence. What followed was a month of hunger, arguments, stolen supplies and unlikely friendships, culminating in a final challenge that required the rival camps to work together.
Who left Apocalypse before the final?
London black cab driver Brooke McCreaner was the original contestant who departed early, leaving during the third episode after struggling with relationships and trust within Westside.
Brooke had entered the experiment hoping to test whether she could become part of a team, having spent much of her working life operating independently. Her departure demonstrated just how difficult communal survival could become when personalities clashed and resources were limited.

The experiment continued with the remaining contestants, while newcomers Alix and Bernie joined the community during the series.
Who made it to the final evacuation?
The original Eastside contestants were Steven, Kiera, Bertie, Kyra, Louise, Scott and Laura. Westside began with Ioan, Freddie, Brooke, Celia, Matty, Kelly and Dean.
With Brooke having departed, the remaining participants continued towards the final challenge, alongside later arrivals Alix and Bernie.
The finale brought the groups together for a demanding escape involving icy water and a journey through snow-covered woodland before they reached their evacuation bus.
There was no traditional winner or cash prize. Completing the 28-day experiment was the achievement, with the final journey demonstrating how far the contestants had progressed from their earlier rivalry.
What did the survivors learn?
Perhaps the biggest lesson was that practical survival skills could only take the contestants so far without cooperation.
Bertie’s ability to build and repair useful facilities showed the value of creativity, while the farmers, mechanics and other experienced participants brought different strengths to daily life.
However, the series also exposed how hunger, exhaustion and disagreements could undermine even the most capable group.
Steven faced difficult moments during the experiment, while Scott’s experience carried particular personal significance because he had taken part in memory of his late son.
By the finale, the groups were sharing supplies, exploring together and celebrating the friendships they had developed.
Dean’s final confession threatens the peace
One last disagreement emerged when Dean revealed that food served at the farewell banquet had been taken from a hidden supply beneath Eastside’s accommodation.
Dean and Freddie’s discovery had allowed them to prepare a meal for the contestants, but the confession revived memories of the disputes that had dominated their time in Riverside.
Despite the revelation, the groups managed to put their differences aside as the evacuation approached, bringing the experiment to a more cooperative conclusion.
Could you survive 28 days?
The series offered an uncomfortable reminder of how dependent modern life has become on electricity, supermarkets, running water and constant communication.
Finding food and building shelter were only part of the challenge. Contestants also needed patience, resourcefulness and the ability to live alongside strangers whose personalities and priorities were very different from their own.
Would you cope without your phone, a warm shower or familiar meals? More importantly, could you trust other people when food was scarce and disagreements threatened the group?
For those who completed Apocalypse, the final evacuation marked the end of an extraordinary test of endurance, cooperation and personal resilience.
All seven episodes of Apocalypse are available to stream on Channel 4.
