Who is William Teasdale? Meet Coronation Street’s new Marco Rhodes

William Teasdale is joining Coronation Street as new character Marco Rhodes, bringing a talented young actor, musician and composer to Weatherfield for a new storyline alongside Summer.

William online profiles show he graduated from the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts with a BA (Hons) in Acting in 2025 and has already built an impressive range of experience across theatre and screen. Previously based in Carlisle, his creative background stretches well beyond acting, with music production, composition and sport all forming part of his wider skill set.

His theatre work also includes playing King Henry in Henry V at Liverpool’s Unity Theatre, Sir Frederick Flapping in The Backs(L)ide and appearing with ThickSkin Theatre in Love Will Tear Us Apart. Earlier in his career, he also played Enjolras in Les Misérables.

William has been building his screen experience alongside his theatre work. His credits include playing lead character Mateo in Where the Rabbits Go, as well as Rory in Nova 1885 and Andre in One Drink.

His creative interests do not stop with acting. William is also a musician, composer and experienced music producer, working across styles ranging from house and techno to larger cinematic pieces. That combination of performance and music gives him a particularly broad creative background as he takes the next step into Coronation Street.

His arrival on one of Britain’s longest-running dramas marks an exciting new screen opportunity after several years building experience through training, theatre and independent film work.

Coronation Street viewers will meet William as Marco, whose first scenes immediately place him opposite Harriet Bibby’s Summer. Their introduction begins when Summer confronts Marco outside the tattoo shop after believing he has stolen one of her designs.

Marco quickly reveals that the artwork was actually an excuse to see her again. He offers to buy the drawing and asks Summer to meet him for a drink, with Summer later admitting to Asha and Amy that she has agreed to a date despite still having some reservations.

With his strong stage background, LIPA training and creative work across acting and music, William looks like an exciting addition to the Coronation Street cast. Marco gives him a great opportunity to step into a major television role, and we’re looking forward to seeing him make his mark in Weatherfield and watching where the character’s story with Summer goes next.
