Serena may be one of Emmerdale’s newest arrivals, but she has wasted little time making an impression on the village.

Now, ITV has confirmed she is one of six women leading the soap’s major summer stories, suggesting her journey is only just beginning.

Unlike some of the other women featured in ITV’s summer line up, Serena arrives with plenty of unanswered questions already surrounding her. While she has begun building new friendships and finding her place in village life, there is also a sense that viewers have only scratched the surface of who she really is.

One of the biggest mysteries surrounds her connection to John.

Serena has already admitted she is a former police officer, but there are still plenty of questions about her past.
