What is Lee hiding about Jess in EastEnders?
Lee’s secret call to Jess casts doubt on what he has told Nancy and the Carters in EastEnders, leaving one major question unanswered.
EastEnders has explained Nancy and Lee’s shocking pregnancy revelation, but the answer has opened up another mystery surrounding Lee and his partner Jess.
Nancy is not expecting a child with her brother. She is acting as a surrogate for Lee and Jess after the couple experienced miscarriages, with the baby conceived using Lee’s sperm and Jess’s egg. Nancy is therefore carrying their biological child rather than having a baby of her own.
Lee has told his family that he and Jess have separated and that Jess was the one who walked away. The situation is the reason Nancy returned to Walford seeking legal advice from Johnny, with concerns over what could happen once the baby is born.
Linda immediately questioned why Jess would simply leave her unborn child behind. Nancy explained that they wanted to understand their position and make sure Jess could not simply appear after the birth and take the baby.

However, the episode ended with a significant clue that Lee has not told his family everything.
Lee secretly received a call from Jess and told her not to contact him again. He also made it clear that he did not want her involved with either his family or the baby, casting serious doubt on his claim that Jess was simply the one who left.
