Hollyoaks’ Leah wants Imran back but has no idea what he is hiding

Coming up on Hollyoaks, Leah returns hoping there is still a relationship to repair with Imran. Her concern is that his feelings for Cindy will stand between them, but the situation surrounding him has become more serious than she understands.

Imran and Cindy’s involvement has already complicated several relationships in the village. What appeared to be an unlikely connection has become entangled with the mystery surrounding Ste’s disappearance.

That background gives Leah’s return a difficult foundation. She is trying to establish where she stands emotionally while other people are dealing with information that could bring police involvement.

Leah’s fear that Imran still loves Cindy is understandable, but it does not capture the full extent of what he is hiding. The difference between her concerns and the wider situation leaves her vulnerable to learning that the problem is much larger than another woman.

An incident then prompts Lucas to rush to the police station and speak to Donny about Imran. His decision represents a direct move towards telling someone in authority what he knows.

Cindy also finds Imran and pleads with him to come clean. Her intervention places pressure on him from another direction, rather than allowing him to continue controlling what those around him are told.

Following the events, Cindy is questioned by police herself. The consequences are therefore no longer confined to a private relationship or a disagreement between the people involved.

For Leah, returning with hopes of reconnecting means entering a situation in which other people know more than she does. Rebuilding anything with Imran means facing truths that go beyond her fear about Cindy.
