ITV has released the first images and a new trailer for the fourth series of Trigger Point, offering viewers an early glimpse at Lana Washington’s most dangerous assignment to date. Vicky McClure returns as the fearless but deeply affected explosives officer as another threat places London and her team in serious danger.
The dramatic 60 second preview shows Lana and her fellow bomb disposal officers responding to a series of terrifying incidents across the capital. Explosive devices and terrorist threats appear to be at the heart of the new investigation, with Lana once again forced to make life or death decisions while working under immense pressure.

The newly released images show Lana working alongside fellow explosives officers Danny, played by Eric Shango, and Hass, played by Nabil Elouahabi. Scenes inside the police headquarters also feature Natalie Simpson as DS Helen Morgan and Maanuv Thiara as DCI Batra, while Julie Graham joins the series as guest character Commander Nia Quentin.
Vicky McClure said she was thrilled to be returning to the drama and continuing the story of a character who has faced extraordinary professional and personal challenges. She said: “I love working with the team, we have a great time making the show and I cannot wait to continue Lana’s journey on Trigger Point.”
Series four will consist of six new episodes, with Chris Brandon returning to write the drama. Jennie Darnell, whose previous credits include Payback and Line of Duty, will direct alongside DI Ray and Grace director Nirpal Bhogal.
The series is produced by HTM Television in association with All3Media International. Executive producers include Line of Duty creator Jed Mercurio, Daniel Walker, Jessica Sharkey, Chris Brandon, Vicky McClure and HTM Television.
ITV’s Director of Drama Polly Hill said the broadcaster was delighted to welcome the series back following the success of its previous three runs. She said: “I’m delighted that this thrilling series is returning for a fourth series. I know audiences will be once again on the edge of their seat as Lana and the team take us on another thrilling ride to keep the capital safe.”
The first three series have been streamed 91 million times and have reached more than 20 million viewers across ITV and ITVX. The third series averaged seven million viewers, while its opening episode attracted an audience of 7.4 million and became one of ITV’s most watched dramas of 2025.
Those figures underline the enduring appeal of Lana and the high pressure world in which she operates. While the explosions and urgent operations provide the spectacle, Vicky McClure’s performance has also ensured that Lana’s emotional journey remains central to the drama.
The trailer suggests the new operation will test the entire team, with Lana confronting what ITV has described as her greatest challenge yet. With a new commander joining the operation, returning colleagues at Lana’s side and an unidentified threat targeting the capital, series four appears ready to push Trigger Point into another gripping investigation.
