Suno Studio update promises more accurate audio from musicians’ MIDI compositions
Suno Studio’s MIDI update promises more accurate audio from existing compositions, with new options for creating and organizing instrument parts.
Suno says its latest Studio update makes it easier to turn existing musical compositions into new audio parts. The AI music platform has improved its handling of MIDI, the digital instructions that tell music software which notes to play and how to play them.
MIDI contains musical information rather than a finished sound recording. That allows a composition to be played through different instruments without rewriting the notes.
In its September 17 announcement, Suno says Studio now converts those instructions into audio faster and with greater accuracy. Musicians can import MIDI files from earlier projects and use written requests in the chat bar to create new instrument parts.
The company gives the example of hearing a synth passage performed as a guitar solo. It also says requests to generate MIDI from scratch produce better results, while another addition lets users rename clips individually or through the chat bar.
