Overcompensating Season 2 Confirms Benny and Miles Hookup as George Gets Bigger Role

Benito Skinner has confirmed that Benny and Miles will finally hook up in the second season of Overcompensating, answering one of the biggest questions left hanging at the end of Prime Video's hit university comedy.

The creator and star revealed the development during an appearance on Owen Thiele's In Your Dreams podcast on Friday 23 October 2026, while also sharing news about George's future and when viewers can expect to hear more about the show's return.

Benny and Miles Finally Get Together in Season Two

Benny, played by Skinner, spent much of the first season hiding his sexuality while attempting to fit into university life, where joining a fraternity and maintaining a heterosexual image became increasingly important to him.

His growing attraction to fraternity brother Miles, played by Rish Shah, complicated those efforts, with their interactions suggesting there was more to their friendship than either character was prepared to acknowledge.

Now Skinner has confirmed that their attraction will finally lead somewhere, revealing during the podcast that "Benny does hook up with Miles in season two."

It is a significant development for viewers who followed their relationship throughout the first season, particularly as Benny struggled to accept his feelings while trying to meet the expectations of the people around him.

However, the confirmation does not necessarily mean the pair will become a couple. Whether their encounter develops into a relationship, or leaves Benny facing further questions about his sexuality and what he wants, has not been revealed.

Owen Thiele's George Will Have a Bigger Role

There is also good news for viewers who enjoyed George, played by Owen Thiele, with Skinner confirming that the character will feature more prominently when the comedy returns.

George was introduced as an employee at a campus shop, offering Benny a connection outside the fraternity environment he was so determined to become part of. His presence provided a different perspective on university life, particularly when it came to sexuality, friendships and being comfortable with yourself.

Expanding George's role could allow the series to explore more of his own experiences rather than keeping him primarily connected to Benny's journey, although Skinner has not disclosed what the writers have planned for him.

The development should also give Thiele more opportunities to build on his character's relationships with the wider cast, something that could become increasingly important as Benny's complicated personal life continues.

When Will Overcompensating Season Two Be Released?

Skinner also suggested that viewers will receive an official release date announcement during November 2026, although he made clear that the second season itself will not premiere that month.

Prime Video has yet to confirm when the new episodes will arrive, meaning audiences will have to wait for the streaming service to reveal its plans.

Overcompensating premiered in May 2025, following Benny as he began university while concealing his sexuality and trying to establish himself within a new social circle. His friendship with Carmen became central to the story, alongside the increasingly complicated relationships surrounding him.

The comedy stars Skinner alongside Wally Baram, Mary Beth Barone, Adam DiMarco, Rish Shah and Owen Thiele, with its first season exploring friendship, identity and the pressures of trying to fit in.

With Benny and Miles now confirmed to become physically involved and George set for an expanded role, the second season has several developments for viewers to look forward to. The next major announcement should establish when audiences will get to see how those relationships unfold.
