Marilyn Monroe and JFK Mysteries Revisited in New London Stage Thriller
Janie Dee stars in Speculations, a new London thriller exploring Dorothy Kilgallen's investigations into Marilyn Monroe and JFK.
A journalist investigating the deaths of Marilyn Monroe, President John F. Kennedy and Lee Harvey Oswald is at the centre of a new London stage thriller opening on Friday 30 October.
Speculations, written by Torben Betts and directed by Trevor Nunn, stars Janie Dee as Dorothy Kilgallen, the American journalist whose investigations and own mysterious death have continued to attract public interest.

The Journalist Behind the Mystery
Set in New York in 1965, the play follows Kilgallen as she attempts to uncover possible connections between three of the most controversial deaths in modern American history.
Kilgallen was a well-known journalist and television personality who investigated the assassination of President Kennedy and questioned aspects of the official account.
The play follows her pursuit of answers as her investigation draws her towards Hollywood, powerful political figures and organised crime.
As she continues digging into the circumstances surrounding the deaths, the dangers surrounding her work become increasingly serious.
Familiar Historical Figures Take the Stage
Janie Dee leads the cast as Kilgallen, with Jolyon Coy playing Robert F. Kennedy and Natalie Dunne portraying Marilyn Monroe.
Joseph Potter appears as Lee Harvey Oswald, while Gloria Obianyo plays Flo Jackson and Ferdy Roberts takes on the role of Carlos Marcello.
The production brings together several recognisable historical personalities through a fictionalised dramatic investigation.
Although inspired by real events, the play's exploration of possible connections and conspiracies should not be taken as established historical fact.
When and Where to See Speculations
Speculations begins performances at London's Marylebone Theatre on Friday 30 October 2026 and runs until 17 January 2027.
The production brings director Trevor Nunn and an experienced cast together for a theatrical look at Dorothy Kilgallen's pursuit of one of America's most enduring mysteries.
