Malta Pride 2026: Ten Days of Events Make Valletta a September LGBT Break

Malta Pride is well underway, but there is still time to book for a short notice trip away to the sunshine.

The Pride event brings ten days of LGBT events to the Mediterranean islands from 4 to 13 September 2026. The programme stretches well beyond a single parade, with parties, cultural events, community gatherings and Pride celebrations taking place across Malta and Gozo.

The main Malta Pride March takes place in Valletta on Saturday 12 September, while Gozo hosts its own Pride March on 5 September. Other confirmed events include Queer Cinema Night, the Out@Work Conference, Drag Bingo and a music concert, the Malta Pride Village and the official closing pool party on 13 September.

For visitors planning several days away, the length of the programme makes Malta particularly easy to combine with a wider island break. Pride events can sit alongside time exploring Valletta, the coast and the neighbouring island of Gozo without having to fit everything into a single weekend.

Where to stay

Valletta is the obvious choice for visitors wanting to be close to the main Pride celebrations, with the capital’s historic streets, restaurants and waterfront all within a compact area. Accommodation inside Valletta ranges from smaller boutique properties to larger hotels, although availability can tighten around major events.

Sliema and St Julian’s are also popular bases for visitors who want a wider choice of hotels, restaurants and nightlife while remaining within easy reach of Valletta. Both areas provide convenient access to the capital and are well suited to travellers staying for several nights rather than attending Pride for just one day.

Gozo is worth considering for anyone extending the trip further. The smaller island offers a quieter pace, coastal scenery and its own Pride event before the main Valletta celebration.

Getting there

Malta International Airport is the main arrival point for overseas visitors, with direct flights available from a number of UK airports. Once on the island, Valletta, Sliema and St Julian’s are connected by buses, taxis and ferry services.

Gozo can be reached by ferry from Malta, making it possible to include both islands within the same trip without needing a separate flight.
