Love Knows No Rules couple reveal hopes for another baby in exclusive interview

Arianna and Vero have spent ten years building a relationship, home and family together, but their openness has also helped thousands of other LGBTQ+ people imagine what their own futures could look like.

The married couple behind Love Knows No Rules now share their journey with nearly 300,000 followers.

Their story has taken them from an app and an almost immediate decision to live together to Valencia, two years in Mexico and the home they have created in Italy. They have been married for almost eight years and are raising their little boy, who is approaching his third birthday.

In this exclusive interview with SoapLandTV, Arianna and Vero discuss why they initially hid their faces online, the importance of showing an LGBTQ+ family openly in Italy and the messages that make their work worthwhile.

They also speak candidly about protecting their son’s privacy, their journey through assisted reproduction in Austria and their hopes to begin trying for another baby early next year.

For readers discovering you for the first time, how would you introduce yourselves and your family?

We’re Arianna and Veronica, a married couple and moms to our little boy, our biggest love, who is almost three. We’ve been together for ten years and married for almost eight.

Our family is pretty ordinary in many ways: we love each other, we laugh, we argue, we’re tired parents, we make plans, we change our minds.. we’re figuring things out as we go. The fact that there are two moms is obviously an important part of our story, but we love showing that an LGBTQ+ family can simply be a family and a wlw couple can simply be a couple, with all the beautiful and messy everyday things that come with it.

How did the two of you first meet, and what do you remember most about the beginning of your relationship?

We met through an app, and, to really live up to the lesbian stereotype, we saw each other just two times and by the third we were already moving in together! It sounds completely ridiculous when we say it out loud, but.. it worked, right!?

We’ve lived in different places throughout our relationship. We spent some time in Valencia, then lived in Mexico for two years, and eventually decided that Italy was where we wanted to build our home and our family.

Looking back, we obviously had no idea where that first date would take us. Ten years later, we’re married, raising a little boy, and talking about having more children.

At what point did you decide to start sharing your life together online?

It happened back in 2017. We felt that it was important for us to play our part in showing the world that love really is love, in all of its forms. At first, we started posting pictures where our faces weren’t visible. But after some time, we realized that if even we felt the need to hide our faces, we were somehow reinforcing the idea that there was something about who we were that we should be ashamed or embarrassed of. That was the turning point.

We decided that if we were going to share our story, we wanted to do it proudly and authentically. We started showing our faces, our relationship and, eventually, our family without feeling that we needed to hide any part of ourselves.

It’s also interesting to look back because our relationship itself wasn’t completely public from the beginning. It was only after we got engaged that we felt ready to live it openly. In a way, the account evolved with us, almost like a mirror of our lives and of the different stages we were going through.

We didn’t set out to build a community or become creators. We were simply sharing our lives, and over time we realized that what we were sharing wasn’t just our relationship anymore, but the very real journey of two women building a life and a family together. And because we live in Italy, that visibility has become particularly meaningful to us.

Your account has grown into a very large community. Did you ever expect so many people to connect with your story?

We never expected the community to grow this much, but we always hoped that our story and our relationship would resonate with people in some way. We wanted our account to be a safe place where people could feel connected, supported, and realize that a future like this is possible.. maybe, sadly, not everywhere yet, but hopefully one day it will be.

In a way, we’re simply saying, “We’re here. We exist. We love each other. We’re building a family.” Because the more visible and ordinary our relationships and families become, the closer we get to a world where people can finally live them openly and genuinely, without feeling that they need to hide.

We never imagined that so many people would find comfort, connection, or hope in our story. So we’re deeply grateful for all the love and support our community has given us. The fact that something that started so personally for us can now mean something to so many other people is incredibly special.

What do you think people connect with most when they follow you?

They probably connect with the little things we share that feel relatable to them in a relationship. Or maybe they connect because they can see in us that building a life, a relationship and a family is perfectly possible for our community too. Sometimes people feel discouraged because they have little support from their families or society, and it becomes important for them to see that, beyond all of that, there is hope.

There’s something particularly powerful about showing a WLW relationship in that everyday way. Not as something extraordinary, but simply as two people living, loving and building a family together.

How important is it to you to show a loving LGBTQ+ family and relationship openly on social media?

It’s extremely important to us. We chose Italy as the place where we wanted to live and raise our family, even knowing that in some ways it would be more challenging for us than living somewhere else. Families like ours are still not as common or as visible as they should be, and LGBTQ+ families can sometimes feel vulnerable because of political decisions and changes in the way our families are recognized. For us, visibility is a form of normalizing.

We want people to see two moms taking their child to school, to the park, going on holiday, arguing and then making peace, celebrating birthdays, being exhausted, laughing together.. just living.

We could have chosen a country where life might be easier for our family. But Italy felt like home to us, and we didn’t want to leave simply because our family is still considered different. Sometimes we think: if everyone who has the possibility to leave does, then who stays to make things better? We want our son, and hopefully our future children, to grow up knowing that their family belongs wherever they want too.

Has sharing your life publicly changed the way you think about LGBTQ+ visibility or representation?

Absolutely. Before having this community, we understood the importance of representation, but now we see its impact firsthand. We receive messages from people who tell us that seeing us and our family has helped them accept themselves, given them courage to come out, or simply allowed them to imagine a future they didn’t know or thought was possible.

That last part is particularly meaningful to us. Representation isn’t only about seeing someone who looks like you. Sometimes it’s about being able to imagine yourself in a future. We also think a lot about our son when we talk about visibility. We want him to grow up in a world where his family doesn’t need an explanation.

What has been the most rewarding part of building your online community and has anything surprised you along the way?

Without a doubt, the people. Their messages. Someone telling us that they finally feel less alone, that they had never seen a family like theirs represented before, or that watching us gave them hope for their own future.

This is what makes us want to continue putting ourselves out there and taking the risks that come with it. We can’t reply to all the messages we receive, but believe us when we say that reading them makes our hearts feel warm. It reminds us that what all of this is meaningful, and that visibility is very important.

How do you balance creating content with keeping parts of your relationship and family life private?

This has become increasingly important as our community has grown. We share a lot because we believe in visibility, but we don’t believe that being visible means giving the internet access to everything. Sometimes it can feel scary to share your life on social media, which is why we’re very intentional about what we choose to share, especially since becoming parents.

We have a responsibility to protect our family, and especially our son. He didn’t choose to have a public life, so we feel it’s our responsibility to protect his privacy and his private life. We want to be authentic with our community while still making sure that there are parts of our relationship and family life that belong only to us.

What would you say to LGBTQ+ people who see your family online and perhaps hope to build a similar life for themselves one day?

We would tell them not to give up on the life they dream about simply because it might be more difficult for them than it is for someone else. Our own journey to becoming a family hasn’t always been straightforward.

Having our son required a lot of planning, emotional energy and a journey through assisted reproduction in Austria. But today, when we look at him, we know that every step that brought us to him was worth it.

So, to anyone wondering whether a life like this can be theirs too: your family might not look like ours, and your journey might be completely different, but you deserve to build a life where you can love openly, create a family if you want one (or not), feel that you belong, and love yourself and be loved exactly for who you are.

What’s next for Arianna and Vero? Is there currently something you’re working on or dreaming of?

We’re definitely dreaming about growing our family. We hope to start trying for another baby early next year, and, for now, it will probably be Arianna’s turn to carry the pregnancy AGAIN.. at least until Vero gets over the trauma of witnessing the first birth!

Beyond expanding our family, we also want to keep growing as individuals. Our family is the most important thing in our lives, but it isn’t the only thing that defines us. We still have personal dreams, talents and ambitions that we want to explore.
