London AI Movie Awards expands into music and advertising

The AI Movie Awards is expanding beyond filmmaking when its London edition arrives at IET London on 7 and 8 November 2026. AIMA London will now accept creative work covering AI films, image art, motion art, advertising and music, reflecting how generative technology is spreading across entertainment and other creative industries.

The event follows the inaugural AI Movie Awards in Mallorca and brings the format to Savoy Place in central London. Filmmakers, artists, technology companies, brands and other creators will gather for two days combining practical sessions with screenings and an awards ceremony.

The full programme of speakers, individual sessions and films has not yet been announced. Anyone considering travelling specifically for one creator or production should therefore wait for the final timetable before making assumptions about who will appear.

Why has AIMA expanded beyond films?

Generative AI is increasingly being used across visual art, music videos, advertising, design and sound rather than remaining confined to experimental short films. Opening separate categories gives AIMA a way to judge those forms without forcing everything into the definition of cinema.

It also creates a broader conversation about where AI-generated entertainment is heading next. A striking still image, animated campaign or AI-assisted music project has very different creative demands from a narrative film, even when some of the underlying technology overlaps.

AIMA London takes place on 7 and 8 November, giving the capital another specialist AI entertainment event before the end of 2026.
