Jet2 opens Christmas market breaks for winter 2027
Jet2 opens winter 2027 Christmas market and city breaks. Explore the destinations, participating UK airports and the airline’s Yorkshire beginnings.
Jet2 has opened bookings for its winter 2027/28 city and Christmas markets programme, with more than 800,000 seats available. Announced on 2 October 2026, the schedule spans 82 routes from 13 UK airports, including 48 routes specifically timed for Christmas markets.

The launch gives travellers the chance to plan next year’s festive escape well ahead. The seat total covers the combined winter city programme, including services beyond the Christmas market season.
Which destinations are included?
The 15-city line-up features Vienna, Prague, Cologne, Budapest, Strasbourg, Tallinn, Gdansk, Krakow, Berlin, Copenhagen, Paris, Barcelona, Porto, Rome and Venice. Vienna has the broadest departure choice, appearing at every participating base.

- Strasbourg: Edinburgh, Manchester and London Stansted.

Where are Jet2’s UK bases?
Jet2’s wider network now comprises 14 UK airport bases across England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. An airport base is somewhere the airline stations aircraft and crews, although the routes available differ between locations.

Its bases are Belfast International, Birmingham, Bournemouth, Bristol, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, Liverpool John Lennon, London Gatwick, London Luton, London Stansted, Manchester and Newcastle International. London Luton is part of that wider network but is not included in this particular cities and Christmas markets announcement.
How did Jet2 begin?
Jet2’s passenger airline story began in Yorkshire, with its first flight departing Leeds Bradford for Amsterdam on 12 February 2003. The business initially operated with just two aircraft, making its present national network a substantial expansion from those early days.

Its aviation roots stretch further back through Channel Express, the business from which Jet2 developed. Package holidays followed in 2007 with the launch of Jet2holidays, broadening the company’s offer beyond flight bookings.
More recent growth has taken the airline further into southern England. London Gatwick became its 14th UK base, with the first flights taking off in March 2026.
What should you check before booking?

Start with your nearest airport, then compare the available travel dates with the opening dates of the market you want to visit. A winter flight schedule can extend well beyond the weeks when festive stalls are open.
Compare the full cost of the trip too, including accommodation, baggage and transport between the airport and your hotel. A cheaper flight from a more distant UK airport may offer less of a saving once parking, rail fares or an overnight stay are included.
